Here is a quick review of what we covered in our November meeting.
Treasurers report: We have $354 in our treasury.
It is time for dues and remember it is $20 for the year or $5 per meeting. The dues cover any building costs we might have, teas, plants or other food charges. We may use it for future speakers. We have been pretty frugal and did spend money on our website this past year.
We need nominations for officers:
We should vote at the December meeting and I will send out an email if you can’t make that once I have all the nominations in. If you mentioned to me that you are interested in covering any of the seats can you please email that to me to remind me? Thanks! At the December meeting we should also set up a tentative calendar for the coming year of things to share or cover.
Mary discussed the Herbalist without Boarders (HWOB) and how we could team up with the minister that runs two churches St. Andrews where we met on Howard Street, and the West Central Mission at 1832 W. Dean Ave. He offered to let us start an herbalist garden at the downtown Mission and we could run a clinic out of the community hall (it could be quarterly, monthly or weekly or whatever members what to do). If we join our Guild with the Herbalist without Boarders we can do a lot more hands on type of work. I would imagine our monthly schedule having several options -our monthly educational meeting, a hands-on meeting, more walk abouts, work in the garden days, clinic time etc.
Our other option is to remain 2 separate groups with two sets of officers, different dues and meeting schedules.
Our group will need to vote on linking the groups or remaining separate. Once I hear about nominees I will send out a voting email. We need to vote on our preference.
Our presentation was very interesting with Annie Patrick and Katelyn Hansen (she works with Annie as a Nutritionist) sharing what they know about this topic. They covered losing weight through nutrient dense foods. I have attached 2 handouts that are a good summary.
Below are the links to the notes from our presentation on weight loss and the healthy recipe ideas below. The list of herbs we covered were:

December’s Holiday Herbal Gift Making and Market
Reminder for December- we are to meet on the 9th from 3-6pm. We can meet at Mont Lamm event center off Hwy 395 just a few miles north of Deer Park. The plan is to make gifts from herbs. Please send me any recipes that you have and would like to share with us. I will try to make copies of the recipes and also hope to either arrange for materials or have a list for you to bring. I will send out more about that once I get feedback from you?
